Last week I ran a planning and goal setting workshop for clients and other contacts on my database. This time of year is traditionally the time where we as business owners take stock of recent results and direction, and think about what the coming year could look like. At least many do and I hope you are one of them.
The workshop went well and was well received by those who came along. When I asked people what their main takeaway was, one person said that I had stated, “Your business should serve you, not the other way around”. It touched this person emotionally because his business had perhaps dominated his life and had become a bit overwhelming.
So, does your business serve you and your life, or are you more of a slave to the business and you get what energy (and money) is left over?
If it feels like you serve your business, it is time you spent a small amount of quality time putting a VISION in place of what your business and your life should look like in 3-5 years. Then put a plan into action to achieve that vision. Sounds simple I know. The fact is the Visioning and Planning process is simple, or it should be. The harder part is putting your plan into ACTION and sticking with it. That’s where I can help, so if you want to grow a business that serves you in the future email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can start that journey.
