Is Job Management Software a Good Idea?

I am always keen to see businesses become more efficient and for the owners of those businesses to use their time more effectively. Just like battery operated tools have largely replaced hand tools for many tasks, software has made similar progress in pushing out the paper and pen from pricing and managing jobs in the field.

Granted it is easier to learn how to use a cordless screwdriver than a complex piece of software, but the longer term payoff in time saved and improved financial visibility into your business will make the journey worthwhile.  I recently did a Zoom interview with one of the team at Tradify and thought I would share an article from their site about the basics of job management software and some of its advantages. Here is the beginning of that article and a link at the bottom to read the balance….

As trade industries continue to boom and demand for skilled tradespeople continues to rise worldwide, many have experienced trade businesses take off in recent years. With growth, however, comes its own set of challenges. That’s why trade business owners are turning to technology to help them keep up with demand, outpace the competition, and stay on top of their admin.

If you’re not sure about trade-specific tech yet, here’s how and why you should start.

Save time in the office

In our latest Pulse Report, we discovered that the average tradesperson was spending 18 hours on admin every single week. If you’re like most tradespeople and don’t want to spend 936 hours a year buried in a pile of paperwork, then job management software is for you.

Job management software like Tradify is already helping thousands of tradespeople to do better business and get some time back to spend on things they care about — like getting out of the office and onto the tools, spending time with family & friends, or making a 4-day work week a regular occurrence.
