Lucinda and Joe approached us to help guide them in transitioning their business in a new direction and improve profitability.

They had grown the size and scale of their business quite quickly to a team of more than 12, primarily focusing in the group housing market in Wanaka. Like many other builders in this space there was good levels of revenue coming into the business, but this did not seem to translate into a satisfactory level of net profit. Lucinda and Joe wanted to diversify their business into more full-contract projects and needed help to implement this goal.

Lucinda stated one of their main frustrations was a lack of industry-specific support : “The main problems and frustrations I was facing as a business owner was the lack of support/network within the industry to sense check key items against such as proposals, pricing and processes – everyone is in competition so it can be a lonely place with little guidance from others.”

A programme of 1-to-1 coaching sessions helped to provide the focused support that Lucinda and Joe needed to refine their business processes and help them reach a new level.

With the support of the RBP co-funding programme we worked through  a number of modules in our Partners to Success programme. Lucinda was great at implementing the agreed strategies and applying them to their particular situation. This resulted in a growth in profit levels, a solid pipeline of full contract renovation and new build opportunities and a better feeling of control in their business journey.

We asked them what they liked about the programme?  Lucinda – “Andy is exceptionally well-versed within the trade industry and was able to provide me with insights my accountants and business advisors had previously not been able to answer. He became my sounding board & provided me with information during our video calls follows up with templates and links that I could use myself to help continue to grow my business.”
